I have 18 (now 17
) 2 week old Meat birds. One died last night. Just looked in on them and it was dead...2had gotten out of the brooder and I am not sure for how long. Could that have been the cause of its death?

If it had no heat lamp I would say so, I'm sorry about that.
They could have gotten a chill or ate something off the floor? Its really just a guessing game. Sorry! I am so sorry for your Loss!
