New and Old Users of the Brinesa Octagon

Oh, I know exactly what you mean! My first one.... I opened the boxES - both of them! - and this was after my MiniAdvance units which were SIMPLICITY itself. Yikes! I think I took a couple of HOURS trying to figger it out, and getting the pieces set up correctly. There were pictures in the paperwork, but it wasn't with "exploded" diagrams of what went where, just what it looked like when it was done.

It wasn't simplicity like the MiniAdvance units, even with the humidity pumps for the MiniAdvance EX 'bators.

I got a Brinsea octaqon 20 advane. just got me hatching eggs from neighbor, what humidity? I am confused. people say 50% others say the factory settings at 20% are good. which one>? first timer here. any good advise please.

I have the adv. I shoot for 25 to 35 percent humidity for the first 18 days.

Then 65 to 70 for lockdown and hatch.

Seemed to work better for my hatching success.

Try one way if it works try to repeat it. If it doesn't work make a few adjustments and try again.

Even though it is a quality bator don't trust the humidity reading it is close most of the time. But always double check it and temperature.

Good lyck
