Hi everyone! I'm Allison and I live in NC. We recently bought a house on an acre in a small town, so I get to have a few semi-country pleasures like I've always wanted!
I now have chickens and am discouraged about egg production to say the least!
These are 3 of my first 6 chickens in this picture taken on May 27th when I brought them home from an auction.
(working on posting picture here)
Two of these four turned out to be roosters, so one became soup.
Now I have 1 rooster and 4 hens from this original set and still no eggs. I have no idea how old they are, but I thought this picture would help. They are now 4 months older since this was taken.
Additionally, I have 3 more hens of different varieties that I've acquired since then and appear to be older than these. One laid a blue egg about 1 month ago not long after coming home, and nothing else...
They have a coop with a run, but do get let out in the yard some days before returning to the coop like clockwork..
Any ideas?
Patience? Snakes? Bad joke?
