Never had chickens before. We now have 3 hens and they’ve been with us for 3 weeks. Our chickens are Tan, white and dark brown. Honestly, the told us what breeds they are, but we don’t remember. So far, we enjoy watching the chickens explore our yard and are looking forward to our first eggs. In addition to the chickens, we are huge basketball fans (college) and I love baking in the stay-at-home situation. Family = 2 adults, 2 teens, 1 dog & 3 chickens.

We found BYC like we find most things, Google search! We like the idea of a community where people have varying degrees of experience at something new to us. Always good to benefit from the experience of others, it saves time, money and heartache!

Here are some okay photos. They aren’t crazy about getting their picture taken, or maybe it’s just me getting close to them. I’m pretty sure the dark brown is a leghorn, but unclear about the others. still waiting for eggs, and based on what I e read here it will probably be another week or so. Thinking they were about 16 weeks when we brought them home?
