Got the locks on the chicken door and the clean-out door and mounted the entry doors yesterday and moved our first keets out to the coop and our new (lpurchased not hatched) arrivals. Still have 10 keets in the house, which they will stay there for the next 2 weeks then be moved out to the coop.
We're going to release the older Guineas this evening so they can roam around the coop and get use to it. No outside access for any of them for the next couple of months, which gives me time enough to get the chicken run done.
Built a intro-cage yesterday too, so we have a place to introduce new birds to our older birds. Turned out fairly nice. I built it so I can slide a board in the middle to divide the cage into two sections or remove the board and have one large cage. Has twin doors on top.

Thanks for the good comment, but I'm just a back yard carpenter. At times, I wish I had plans to go from instead of just coming up with a design in my head and start building it....cuz I've come into some issues while building that I didn't think about until it was too late and then I had to make adjustments to the design.

Love the divider idea in the coop..
Looks very nice and clean.
Mine are outside in a big run atm. they stinking it up something fierce. I have to move the coop every 2 days to get fresh gras and clean gras under them.
Stinky little buggers

I built one of those too and was using it with the Pheasants and yes, every 2 days I had to slide it over to a new spot because they'd have all the grass gone and had deposited quite the layer of poop.

We released the 7- 5wk olds from the cage yesterday and everything is good with the group. There was 1 show of who's boss between a Lav and a Pearl, I was shocked to see the Lav win over the much larger Pearl.

The difference between their ages is only 1 week. The birds we raised were on Med. high protein food and the 7 that we purchased were not and you can see the major size difference of them. Our Pearls are almost double the size of the Lavs.

We checked on them this morning and all of them were grouped together sleeping.
