I don't know how warm do they have to stay I was going to get a plastic bin cover the top with chicken wire and keep them down stairs in my house do they need a heat heat ?

We definitely don't keep our house at 95 degrees would a heat lamp make to hot for them since we already have a wood burning stove in the same room?

They need a heat lamp for a source of heat...but make sure that they have enough room to get away from it if they are too warm so they don't suffocate. A wood stove in the same room would not be a good heat source for them. Hope this helps

The wood stove might work if the chicks were free to roam the space rather than being confined to a plastic box. I'm pretty sure brooding houses used to be heated with wood stoves as a common practice.
