I have another thread with the full story, but thought I would post my pics here and an update.
7 eggs developed. 1 died after pipping and never absorbed the yolk, another died due to a really bad air cell I think, 2 hatched on their own, 3 had to be helped 100% they would have never made it out. The air cells were awful, never seen anything like it, they were not shipped very carefully and not wrapped as I would have wrapped them but in the end 5 made it out.
I thought I would lose the last 2 but after two days of being pipped and still moving - though barely - I knew I had to either let them die or open them myself. I promised them I would not let them die. I assumed they did absorb the yolk and they had since it had been 2 days since pip.
I took my chances as I had already helped one and he was fine. I normally wouldn’t do this unless I felt I had to and I felt I had to. I opened the last two. They were alive and weak, they slipped right out no issue. Membrane wasn’t great it had some blood but they were not bleeding, I placed them back in the bator to get warm and to rest before being in the brooder with the 3 others bouncing around like toads on crack.
They perked up within an hour or 2 and both went to the brooder. They are absolutely the most adorable babies ever LOL!
They are taking a while to fully fluff out but the very first who hatched about 24 hours ago is fluffed and his Mohawk is ADORABLE!!!!! <3
Love them. 5 out of 7 made it to hatch. Originally it was 12 but 5 were infertile/cradled never developed. Not too bad considering the shipping.
Here are my new (and most likely LAST babies of the summer!!)
