I ordered chicks from Meyers Hatchery and they come on Wed. The pulletts I have I got when they were 4 weeks old so day old babies is new for us........we kept the pulletts in the basement in a big box and they did very well I plan to do the same thing for the new babies but smaller scale .......the Easter Bunny is bringing to the kids so they have to be where they cant see them for a few days........My question is will the dryer exhasut hurt the peeps?????? I just went down in the basement to do laundry and it smells Snuggle fresh down there I didnt know if it would hurt them???

I only plan to keep them in the little brooder box from Wed. to Sat. night and then we will bring them up to the dining room so we can all watch them grow

The dryer vents into this big box thingy that catches all the extra lent it doesnt vent outside so it actually vents into the basement it makes it warm down there.

Any thoughts????????

I just never thought about the smell bothering them until I went down there today and thought peeps dying from snuggle would be hard to explain

Given the foul smells and nasty conditions that many chickens are raised in...I can't imagine that the vapors from a dryer...or dryer additives, could do any damage. If humans aren't hurt by it, chicks can definitely stand it as well...and it will only be for a short time in their lives. Good luck with the peeps!

Thanks..........I was just reading the Save a Chick Rally flyer now I feel bad that I got chicks for easter kind of ..........I did it to be cute for the kids but I guess its ok since I think I know what I m doing right????????
