New Babies from speckledhen

The yellows are mine from my RSL hens with SLW roo. I wanted to see (if they are hens) what production would be like. If they have good production, then I won't buy from TSC, just hatch my own production hens. I love hatching babies and it would be great to be sustainable. The Ameraucana's are just for fun and because I like the fluffy cheeks and colorful eggs. I only have one now that lays green eggs and she is not friendly at all. I just love these chicks because they want to be loved on and petted. They jump right in my hand when I go play with them. Now the SLW and Yellow mixed are not as curious but will follow the the EE's just to see what's all the excitement about. I believe that they will help my others to become more friendly. Thanks!

Congrats! They are adorable!

Adorable!! I think baby chicks put ppl. in the best moods. I work for a bank...maybe I could put some in the teller's window for ppl. to see.

Updated Pictures!!! They are now 3 weeks old and I have 3 black/white and 2 gray/white/tan. The 3 black/white are just little curious cuddle bugs and the 2 gray are timid but eventually come around. The ones from my eggs are not friendly at all, which confirmed what I suspected. It doesn't matter how much time and petting they get, you need birds from friendly stock to have friendly birds. I know that continued petting and as they mature mine will settle down and be sociable with me, but not jump on you and want to be petted friendly like Cyn's babies. Here they are and other than the 2 white ones (which are from my stock) none have names yet.

The three musketeers..

So what do you think, I think there are Barred Rock (two black barred ones) and Delaware (one solid black, one gray and one gray with pin stripes and brown face).

ETA: the two gray's may be barred rock but I'm not sure. One has lacing on body and pin stripes in chest and MUCH lighter gray back feathers (near the tail, you can see it in one picture). The other is pin stripes which is the cutest thing pin stripes are more white in the chest and she/he has brown face. Just cute.

Honestly, I'm not sure, but the Ameraucanas would produce blues or blacks with my BR rooster. Even the blues look like they have barring, but that might be the case with a Delaware sire, too. May be obvious as they get older. That last pic with the head-on shot of the chick, that one may be a Del/Ameraucana.
