I picked up 6 new babies from TSC today from the pullet bin, but I'm not sure what they are. I know there are 3 each of two different breeds. TSC employee said possibly Buff Orps (solids) & red sex-links (striped). Any guesses?
(The black chicks are all week-old Dominiques from Cackle. The lighter chicks are my mystery TSC babies.)

If they'd just hold still I'd have better pics.

A few look like ours. The ones with the brownish/red stripes going down their backs are RIR

They look like red sexlinks and I think I see a New Hampshire red. Buff orps are very pale.

The black ones with white dots are Barred Rocks. The yellow ones - Yellow or pink legs/feet?

edit: nevermind, Doms - Didn't read all the way through I guess

That's what I was thinking, but he swore that buff orps weren't that light. He said they were more red, instead, so I put the pale yellow peeps back. DH just came home and said, "Couldn't you have gotten 4 more so we'd have an even 30?"

I guess that means I'm off to the feed store again this weekend....but they have a minimum of 6.

I just bought chicks at TSC and yours look like mine.

The chipmunk/stripe ones are Red Sex links

Pale blonde is Golden Comets

and the blacks are Black Sex links.

I'm not saying that yours are, but if the stores carry similar stock it may be.

Hope this helps and congrats!

What TSC did you go to? The one in Mount Airy just got chicks today and we were there! The light red (no stripes) should be RIRs, the reds with chipmunk markings are Red Sex Links, and I am thinking the pale yellow ones in the pullet bin are either Buff Orpingtons or White Rocks (I am hoping buffs, LOL).

Thanks! We went to Denver. We're in Maiden, so Mt. Airy is a little too far for us. We've been there before, though.

I was planning to stop by the one closer to us (Newton) once they get theirs in later this week.
