My broody hen Penny has hatched two chicks. They are a week old. I kept them separated from the rest of the flock (4 hens)for the first week. They were in my garage in an old bathtub. :) Today I introduced them to the flock and there were not many issues. The mother and babies are choosing to sleep outside instead of inside with the rest of them. I have a spot inside the coop where they can go on the coop floor but they didn’t go back there. The mom is used to going to the coop at night. There is a tank which they used to get down. Should I just leave them out there for the night or wait till dark and put them inside. Mom hen has dug a nest in the straw and babies are under her. Going to be +4 Celsius tonight.

I wouldn't leave them outside unless your pen is absolutely predator proof. The hen will keep them warm enough.

It’s chain link fence, only thing that could get in is something like an ermine/weasel. Not many around.
