New babies

Hi. I have a small three hen coup and would like to introduce three new babies to the group this spring. Somehow I don't think my girls will be very receptive to the newcomers, and I don't want them hurt. I'm new to this and am not sure how to proceed. Do I raise the new ones in the house and them bring them to the coup, or do I try to find a clucky hen and try to give the new ones to her? Any advice will be greatly appreciated! Cheryl

You are absolutely correct that your girls won't be very receptive to the new ones.

You will have to raise the babies separate until they are old enough to defend themselves (almost as large as the adult hens) and work their way into the pecking order or they will be killed. Good luck and
