New babies!!!!!

Since they are wethers they really don't need grain. Grain can cause urinary calculi in wethers and bucks. I would just feed them some grass/alfalfa hay, minerals and water. I also would reccomend an herbal wormer, Fir Meadow LLC sells several that have been tested and work. I feed wormer to them in their Kelp. You will need hoof trimmers, I try to trim hooves monthly.

Thanks LydiaB! How often do you worm yours?

I worm weekly with the herbal wormer. My goats eat it if you mix it with kelp. If you can afford it, getting a fecal done at your vets would be a good idea so you know what kind of wormer you need. Fir Meadow tells you which wormer is for which worms. I can't afford fecals right now, so I just use a couple different wormers, GI soother and Dworm A.

Ok, thanks for this!

The babies are here the babies are here!!! OMG they are so adorable!!

So, the little black and white one is Blitz, he's coming around very nicely. He's going to be easy to win over I think. After day one, he already accepted the leash and collar, and he would walk with me fairly easily. He lets you pet him, and he loves to be scratched on his sides and he will eat out of your hand.
The little tri colored one is Jester. He's very shy and flat out scared. He's going to take time and patience. He doesn't like the leash and collar at all, he fights me with everything, I mean he runs, jumps, pulls, screams, he just freaks out and he wants nothing to do with eating anything out of our hands. Poor little guy. I hope he comes around soon.
They both had colds when we brought them home, the breeder said they got it from being at the fair. She gave them an antibiotic injection right before we left with them and said to give it about a week and they should be over it. So far they look like they are doing much better. There's not much coughing anymore, and their noses look to be clearing up. I was a little bit nervous at first about it but they do seem to be getting over it.
We thought we had their housing all ready for them but then the breeder tells us to make sure they are in a small area for the first few weeks, not to give them the run of things. Well we were just going to give them the whole critter house. They are staying in the garage for now, tomorrow DH and I will be making them their own little area inside the critter house. I think I like this idea better anyway. That way the goat poo is only in one spot, not all over the critter castle. Lol.

Thanks! We love them too, they are adorable! My husband even goggles over them and he's not really an animal person. Lol.

We decided to go with Blitz for the black and white one and Jester for the tri colored one. Blitz took to the leash and to us pretty well but Jester, wow, he freaks out! I'm not really sure how to convince him that the leash + us = good. I'm not even sure how to convince him that we = good. Blitz will come right to us, he loves being scratched and rubbed on, Jester on the other hand is very shy and unsure.

LOVE the pics! How's Jester doing? Warming up to you yet? I have the feeling that Blitz is going to show him the way. I read somewhere that the way to their hearts is raisins...might work.
