We went to the local store to get some birds last night. My son wanted a goose for 4H. There were 3 geese left. We couldn't buy just one because it would be lonely. We couldn't buy 2 because the one left behind would be lonely so now we have 3 new geese. How old do they need to be before they are introduced to our other 4 geese?

Start now with supervised visits. you can do it with or without a fence in between but be prepared to move fast in case one doesn't like the lil cuties. But most likely they will fall in love. let us know how it goes.

Since its a little cold here to have them out from under the heat lamp for long so far we have carried them over to see the big birds. Frankie the gander seems interested in them. The others run the other way. They must not be ready to be parents yet.

It seems the ganders want to be papas a lot more than the goose do. Hope your weather warms up soon so they can get outside..

This is little Mo ( one of the 3 new goslings and Franky. We put him in a box and put him outside. Franky came up to see him. The other 2 in the background seemed a little scared of him. The one with her head down is the one that was broody last winter. Once it greens up we will have to make a little gosling pen and they can see each other more.

Is Franky a gander? seems the ganders really take to the goslings.. what a sweet pic.
