NEW BABY CHICK!!!

Well, It's 7 A.M. here and I have 4 healthy chicks and one more egg pipping. Since it's only day 20 I'm hoping to have a few more. I had 9 eggs in the bator and the only that I saw moving during candling hasn't done anything yet. Do you or anyone think I should take it out and candle it again. I was sure it would be first and then there is a green egg that I was skeptical of and was going to throw out. I decided to leave it and take my chances and I have a healthy black chick out of it. Glad I didn't pitch it. I usually don't if I'm not sure and I'm glad I stuck with it.

I candled some eggs again. I seen one moving so unsure of the days as the hens have just been sitting on a batch of eggs that all of them lay every day. lol. All 3 hens are taking care of these babies, they are warding the other chickens off and just keeping to themselves, it's pretty cute. I must say I'm pretty proud of my Hens :)

We now have 6 babies, CRAZY!!! They just keep coming.. and more eggs to hatch, until they get bored with sitting on them I would think
I'll try to get pictures tomorrow and post them :)

I have 5 chicks that I hatched in the incubator and they are doing great. One has a sore foot and gets around on one. It has great coordination. I checked them for what sex they are and If I did it right there are 4 girls and one boy. I did two different tests and it came out with the same results. One chick had wing feathers at 3 days. I had 3 chicks that didn't get their wing feathers until they were two weeks old. Those chicks are going to be 6 weeks old on Wednesday and they are really getting pretty. It's funny, one is white and hasn't feathered out completely and the other two look like a barred rock and a rhode island red. Really pretty birds. I can't figure out how to put pictures on and wish I could. The new ones are so cute. I have two black chicks and 3 that look like easter eggers. I wouldn't know about that except I saw a picture of an easter egger that looked just like my three so I'm guessing they might be the same.

^ babies so far, as for what kind... Good Question.. lol
Looks like we have a Rhode Island red, a white one, and some ones that look like daddy.

Our Rooster and his hens in the field foraging. Most likely the pheasant looking one the buff orpington are not being bred. I have never see him breed these girls. They were his litter mates before they were integrated in with the older hens. mainly the Rhode Island Reds and sometimes attempts on the white one. She doesn't fancy him one bit.. lol. She's lead hen. The white one (Gladis). The buff orpington (Buttercup), and the pheasant looking one (Priscilla) are the hens that have been brooding. They We still have 6 eggs left with baby chicks in them but the hens are starting to take the babies around so not sure if these other ones will get to hatch. We don't have an incubator. Today I had candled again and found 7 eggs non viable.
