new baby geese

Well that's OK I really want to put the pics on I just have to go in the office to my desktop and do the whole process. First time I tried to put pics on face book it took me all day had to wait for my daughter to help me, it was so frustrating. It just takes me awhile to get in there and get it done. I know how you feel though I love looking at everybody's pride and joys. They all have there own little personalities, our little Gus he likes to stay close to me but Miss Lilly she is adventurous and likes to check everything out.

When my gander was hatched My Muscovy duck hatched him so I had some hands on but not much. and getting Missy at 4 months old and she had very little human contact since she was hatched and raised by her parents I haven't had much hands on relationship like those that buy them as goslings or hatch them. My gander did let me pick him up and soak his foot this morning and he was so docile. He can be a stinker at times. I felt even though he thinks he has to be MR. Macho he really does feel safe with me. He is almost 6 yrs old. can't hardly believe it.

Hey Donna,
We just picked up our two babies last weekend and they just happen to be the siblings to your pair. Would love to watch yours grow up with ours.

I see you let your babies swim. Can we do that????

We haven't let them do that yet. They would probably love it. Anything else fun you let them do?? We have a big run in the back yard for them with lots of fresh green grass to eat plenty of sun and shade and lots of drinking water.

Hey Hope,

The goslings look great, Will be bringing a grey pair with me when we head to Ocala, so will let you know the weekend for that trip when we set it in stone,

YES let them swim, they swam here, and those we kept from the same hatch swim daily. The size of the pan, cement pan, tub and or pool grows as they do, but yes let them stomp, splash and otherwise play.

Also have an email coming your way with the info you asked for. Little fingers here made it take longer to type lol.

Pete...............we have been blessed with OODLES of buff goslings both male and female and have passed the blessing on to buyers in TX, FL, IA, MT, OR, WA, ME, NC, SC lol and I am sure i forgot one somewhere. Right now we all girls recently hatched and holding onto a number of them for growing out.

Hi Shellie - you've done really well with them and had a great year. I wish I was a few more behind you!!! Its nice that you've run some on and distributed the others so breeding programmes can be expanded.

So far we've used our Splits but they're only yearlings and only 2 are filling eggs. Fortunately the best Split is paired to a Buff so that's the mating we're hoping we'll get some good quality Buffs from. It'll be a lot easier when we have young stock and Buff ganders to work with.

Our other Buff totally ignored other Ganders until placed with our old Grey male then instant courtship. A little too late in the season though and unlikely to get any eggs.

On the plus side we've just hatched another Buff this evening so things are looking better.

They look almost the same, except I'm partial to ours Lol. I take them out for walks everyday and let them eat all the grass they want, they are just to cute. We are first time goose-rs also and are loving it, here are some pics that I took four days ago. The little devils kept picking each others down so I made them a little jacket so they couldn't do it and I think it helped. At least until Gus managed to get his off so I left them off and I think they are better.

Here is there new house will most likely have to expand but will work for now. They sit by the door and wait for me to get them out. These were taken on the 6th and they have grown since then.
Will try and keep new pictures up as often as I can. I'm getting better uploading the more I do it Lol. It will be exciting watching all the siblings grow!

CelticOaksFarm,

Shelly can you tell me the date the babies (Gus and Ms Lilly) were hatched so I can put in on my calender. Thanks hope you all liked the pictures
