You could brood him and his friend in the coop IF you can make sure the older ones can't get to him. They might mistake him for a snack.

I would get a female chick if possible. Too many roos when they grow up can be trouble! Where did you order him from that they sent only 1? I’ve never heard of such a thing. Usually there’s a minimum number.

I got my girls from Farm n Fleet and ordered a Roo the same day. They only sell pullets. No minimum amount. I went back a few minutes ago and got him a friend. All my girls and the new roo are Barred Rocks but the new girl is a Winncote.
He seems to be much quieter now.
