I had a hen go broody, she only had one egg but we decided to let her hatch it, hope she will be a great mommy. with only one to watch hopefully she will do well.

How long will she keep it in the nest with her before I need to put some food and water in there for him?

The chick can survive off just the yolk sack it absorbed right before hatching for to to three days.

She will take it to food and water when it's time, assuming you have some available for them.

Give the chick and hen some Apple cider vinegar in their water to help kill germs. Just a little bit in the water so they don't taste it. Still put it in the water but sometimes your hen will drink it plain. My mut dose it all the time when I go to pour it in the water. And I think apple cider vinegar tastes bad.

unsure what mom is, was in with some jersey giants but she is smaller and more copper than them, and completely different combs
