We leave ours in for a year and change them out in the spring. They'll turn mostly to sawdust and pulverized poop by then. We put that around trees, some in the garden, in our compost bins, etc. Then put down another 2-3" of pellets good for another year. Zero maintenance.

You're so welcome! They're pretty cheap too considering we only use about 3.5 bags a year at around $8 per bag.

We just started using them in the brooders this year...what a game-changer!

This was yesterday and these are way overdue needing to be changed, but there is no smell at all!
