New backyard chicken raiser

My name is Misty I leave in a small town in west Texas. I grew up on a farm with horses, cows, chickens and various other critters. This is the first time I have raised chickens in a "city" setting. My husband and I love animals and are very grateful that the town we live in allows you to have chickens and other animals that most people think belong on a farm. We built a secure covered outdoor area with an indoor roosting area for our chickens and ducks, they are able to free-range all day without the worry of predators.
