New backyard chickens in S Florida

Hi all! I’m completely new to owning chickens, but when a friend needed to find a new home for her small flock I decided it was time. I bought a coop and run and am the proud owner of 3 hens. (The jury is still out on the breed, so feel free to help me out!) We’ve have had a very successful first two weeks with the ladies… 14 eggs on week 1, and 17 eggs on week 2.

I look forward to adding to the flock in the coming months with baby chicks!

I’m sure I’ll have plenty of questions in the days/months ahead. This forum has already proven to be invaluable, and I look forward to all of the wisdom here.
