I am building a new coop. I have the base builder with a 10x5 skid. I am using cinder block foundation because I had a lot laying around. I’m capping them with slim concrete toppers and then putting the skid on top. My plan is to run a French drain around the back of the base because my driveway runs off behind the coop. Then out gravel all around and top the inside of the run with river sand. Is this too much? Do I need just rock or use the corrugated pipe like planned. Please any help would be awesome. First time build. Be honest.

It would be dependent upon the amount of flow. The open pipe in the drain would allow for a faster exit of collected water (high volume) while the gravel will allow for more water to seep into the soil as it moves more slowly through the gravel. There is usually a pipe at the base of foundations set below frost depth when water may be flowing towards the wall. It does not appear that your block was set on a footer of any kind or below frost depth. If you are in a frost prone area, you are likely to see some heave and settle action. The more moisture in the soil will only help to exacerbate the process so definitely use the pipe. Consider resetting the block on a minimum of 4-6" of compacted gravel at a depth below topsoil if you do not wish to go to frost depth. It will help.
The most important material here is the soil separator between your gravel and the native soil. Without it, the soil will migrate into the void areas of your gravel clogging it and causing the drain to fail.

Is this(red circle) the driveway?
Does it go beyond that fence?
Is the foundation wall closet to fence the 'back' of coop?
