Hello,

So we have started our backyard farm. We purchased a home with 5 acres and a barn almost 2 years ago. We started with just barn cats...lol. We now have 10 chicks and 4 ducklings, all in my house we have a custom 10 x 10 coop being delivered in the next week. I joined this group for insight and to make some friends.

Like drumstick diva, I wondered if yours will be Amish-built? There are a lot of Yoder families in the Amish areas of Iowa, and quite a few of those are excellent carpenters.

Sounds like you have a lively house right now. I usually brood indoors -- spring weather in northern Iowa is iffy at best -- and was looking forward to not having indoor babies this year. Unfortunately, two of my runner duck hens didn't make it through the winter, and I have too many drakes for the remaining girls. So, ducklings will arrive next month.

Will look forward to seeing your coop photos. Welcome to the group and all its friends you haven't yet met!
