New Bantam owner, and in Luv!

I raised two bantam mix babies over winter in the house they were my babies. If I had had the money Id have ripped out the carpet and put a hard floor down in the living room so I could keep em in the house with me. I hated having to take em out to the coop. But the mean ole chickie mama said they had to go. I had them pretty much trained to stay off the furniture. But chickie mamma couldnt deal with the stinky cecal poos gettin in the carpet. ( I really don't blame her) I have spent many hours with them in the coop which has been really fun and instructive. I still miss them when it gets dark and I don't have my babies gtoing to sleep on my shoulder.
I thankfully do have solid flooring vs carpet, but I will resort to chicken diapers if needed. I also have maltipoo vacuums #1 & #2. Here is their little house :)

I love it my Bantams started off in a larger odoors version of that coop. and to increase realestate I blocked it up on a tractor frame made of landscape timbers. They now have a 10x16 shed I got to coop them in. da math gots me.

Oh if I had the land, I'd have 2-3 of every bantam breed, plus a couple easter Eggers, 2 miniature donkeys, Australian shepherds, mini cows, mini goats, with their own boulder pile, a peacock, and some turkeys that I would raise from chicks. No ducks. Might as well throw in a rescue piggy while I'm at it.

But my only option is indoors, our lots are too small for outside chickens.. and inside is no place for full size chickens. So I'm stuck w 2-3 max.

There is a mille fleur d'uccle chick at the pet store, and I'm pretty confident it's a female...resisting. and it's so pretty!

She won't last long they are adorable. I am a chickie daddy again!!!!! I have two new peeps hatched by my hen Buddy!! They are identical for the moment so probably same mommy and Daddy. Look like black Cochins maybe. (is possible have two hens and a roo) Haven't looked em over too much yet don't want to risk Buddy getting excited and abandoning the last egg she has. tomorrow if it hasn't hatched I"ll get pics of my babies and candle the remaining egg if it hasn't hatched make sure it is viable. I can't wait to watch my Buddy flock raising these babies. My wife let one of her Barred Rock girls (Baby) hatch some babies but she didn't let them mix with the flock which I disagreed with but the big girls are her project. With these I"ll get to watch peeps following their mom along. So far shes still on nest but nobody is giving her or babies a hard time. I almost forgot to provide water and food the babies can reach. Duh my waterer is on a heater base for winters so is too tall my food dispening barrel is in a water heater pan to prevent excess food waste. Anyhoo I"m excited. I have one of my home hatched mutt baby girls sitting still on 9 eggs not sure of hatch date as I found her all the way over in the old coop they don't use anymore since I got my big shed. Sneaky squirt. So more babies to come. Candled them sort of this evening all are or have been developing need it to be darker to get any details on air cells But looks like some of them could be in the next couple of days. She on a mixed bag of Bantam and standard chicken eggs including one Blue one. So I"m excited can ya tell.

Yes, I can tell, and it's making really consider moving to some land vs a subdivision like I'm in now. No one knows what these bantam chicks are at this store, I think they'd skip her with her hairy feet. Oh, I should take pics of the other chicks. They're all bantams, but I'm not sure what ones. My silkies are being a bit rough with the D'Uccles..pecking and chasing them. I hope I don't have two male silkies!! I'm going to try really hard to resist any more for now. I won't go back in the store again, I can't resist looking at chicks.

I did get Minnie a swing. She keeps looking at it and making some leaps towards flying to it. I tried to pick her up to put her on it, but then she wants me to hold her. Sweet little bird.

How exciting about your chickies!! Now that I don't have a cochin, I totally want one!! I look forward to your pics!
