I purchased a couple of dozen + Iowa Blue chicks from Glen Downs at Sandhill Preservation many, many years ago. Later he began to add "new" blood to his by crossing other breed(s) into his. I'm sure that one of those breeds was Fayoumis. It would have been great if he had at least kept a breeding pen of pure Iowa Blues, even if fertility wasnt great. Most of the pics i have seen do not look like the originals...especially pattern in the males are off. Patterns on hens are close but coloring tends to be off.
