Hello all! I have recently gotten more into standard sized Cochins. I purchased this guy yesterday from a lady who breeds purebred Cochins. She told me that she bought him from a farm that breeds show Cochins. I posted pictures of him on Facebook and a lot of people were telling me that he does not appear to be purebred. He is a big boy. She told me that they went through a rough spring and many of her chickens lost feathers due to fighting which is why he looks a little raggedy right now. The splash roo is his son. The women I bought them from said that when you breed blue x blue together, you get a percentage that is splash. The standard sized blue Cochin Roos that I find on google look similar to him. I want to start showing them someday. If he’s not purebred, that’s ok. He’s a stunning large rooster and I’ve always wanted one of those. Input would be greatly welcomed. Thank you
