I found this guy by my fence while I was walking my new robot lawnmower. He came up to me and was very friendly, which makes me think he once belonged to someone. I live by the woods but there is enough development here that I worry that it will fall prey to either stray cats or dogs or get hit by a riding lawnmower. He's fairly young too, I'd say 3-5 years old and his colors are coming in nicely, orange white and black.
I purchased a new terrarium and everything that goes with it for him, a whopping 98 gallon tank so that should be good.
I owned box turtles a long time ago, raising and hatching them from an egg. I had to give up my old turtles many years back and I miss them very much, so I was very happy this one came to me.
I'll take some better pictures of him once he is settled in, he's living in the bathroom currently and I try to limit stress by letting him do his own thing for now.
