on a website on facebook called old english bantams and brahmas, there is a recent post picture of a group of hens buff color with black heads & hackle, never have seen this marking, anyone know whos breeding them or what they,re called ???

That definitely explains your description! I was trying to think of a Brahma variety colored that way and was coming up blank lol. Thanks for the update!
