My second batch of chicks is still in the house. I am not a fan of how things worked out, schedule-wise, but am making the best of it. I want these kiddos to be big enough to hold their own with the big kids already outside, and totally ready for the cold once my big coop is finished (see my other thread for that). I like to let them out of their stock tank at least an hour per day. They generally run around on top, burn off their energy, and poop on the newspapers on the floor. It’s a good life.
But today, one of my barred rocks, The Bean”, decided she would like to cuddle with me in the recliner. She jumps everywhere, hence the name, and she just hopped her happy arse over onto me. She wormed her way right up under my chin and claimed her spot. This went on forever, but I did catch two minutes of cuteness for posterity, for anyone who wrongly claims chickens aren’t pet material. I’ve got several in this batch who are like this, given the chance.
