I have an interesting question...and it’s about creating a new chicken variety.
My mother and I are both chicken fanatics and do a lot of breeding + selling. One of the breeds we do is the Sussex and have about 5 varieties so far. We are both now interested to know how one would go about creating a new variety...or if it’s even possible.
There is Light Sussex, Buff Sussex, etc but what about a Lavender Sussex? Would it be possible to create this?
I assume you would take a Sussex bird and then cross with a bird carrying Lavender in its genes, but that’s just a guess.
Not a simple question, I know, but I would be interested to see what replies people come up with and what other people think.
