New Brinsea Octagon Advance EX Problem

I had the same problem when I first got my Brinsea (same model as yours). The pump was fine it was something on the circuit board on the incubator that wasn't sending power to the pump. The tubing does have to be very tight around the pump for the suction to work as well. Brinsea's customer service was great though and they got me a replacement really quickly.

VERY hard well water and it builds deposits in those tiny tubes. (Land-lady's well - I can hardly wait until I move out and have my own MOUNTAIN fresh well water.)

I now use only store-bought distilled water. Big deal, 99 cents for a gallon. Sometimes less.

Ah, I get it. Hard water. Yuck! I don't have that problem, the tap water in Glasgow is the softest and cleanest in the UK. We never get deposit build ups in washing machines or kettles or anything like that. I filled my humidity pump straight from the tap without thinking about it. Guess I'm a bit spoiled...

They sent me the replacement incubator and the shipping label for the return before I sent the broken one back. They were really helpful!

Thanks for all the help everyone...I got the new pump today and it didnt work...tried all your suggestions.....unplugged, replugged...priming, no kinks, proper length tubing threaded the right way, nada....they are sending a whole new replacement out and I'm crossing my fingers that it works...now I have a bunch of stuff to return. Does anyone now if UPS will pick up prelabled packaging at my house way out in the middle of nowhere? LOL....

Yeah I thought you might have the same problem I did. I was lucky and DH was able to help me troubleshoot what was causing the problem. I only had to go though the replacement process once. I would have told you how to do the troubleshooting but I was just the "lab tech" he was the scientist. I might have talked you into blowing up both.
