My friend has a poultry farm. She lives near my University daughter down in Albury. When my daughter came home about 2 months ago, she had a couple of turkey eggs. I quickly bought an incubator (through ebay) and two eggs hatched. Sadly, one died. Now we have a three and a half week turkey poult who is very lonely. Luckily my daughter visited 23 days ago with 11 Australorp eggs. They've all hatched. The turkey (Shannon) who is acting like our little puppy is curious/frightened of the new editions. I do think it had the best sleep since the other one died.
Should I let them play together?
Any adive?

We had a pet turkey for the longest time. She slept in the hen house and free-ranged with the chickens. She would follow my wife and sons when they went to the mail box, for a walk, etc. We had no problems letting them stay together.

some people use chicks as "turkey tutors," in the brooder. the chicks will teach the poults where the food and water is.
