Hi all
Tonight we moved our 11 chicks from their 54 gallon roughneck tub and into the new brooder my hubby built. The old brooder was getting a little crowded so he built a 3' x 5' x 2'
The chicks were running around, chest bumping, flapping, eating, drinking and checking out the new brooder while we sat in the room and watched them.
Every time we leave the room though they start to panic I think. They go to the far corner from the light and alarm chirp. I can hear them downstairs with the TV on... and their room door is closed.
The temp inside is about 80-82 degrees so its not too hot.
They have a red light, the same red light they have always had these past two weeks.
They have feed and water.
I went upstairs and talked to them and they calmed down, started walking around and eating again.
Now that I have been back downstairs for like 10 min they are alarmed again.
What do I do? And do you think its just because they are in a new brooder?
