New bullying, egg eating

A couple weeks old... but...We feed back the shells. It's supposed to help with calcium. If they're eating the shells it could be that's why. Perhaps if you start tossing them the shells then they'll stop eating their eggs...?
Thank you for the reply. A bit more detective work has shown me that it is not deliberate. The shells of the eggs that are being eaten are so thin that they are cracking/breaking when layed. This isn't a problem with other eggs, so I doubt it is a flock-wide calcium deficiency. They get their shells baked, crushed, and added back into their pellets. They have oyster shells that they can peck at if they need them. I'm thinking that it is one of the 4 hens (don't know which) who consistently is laying thin-shelled eggs. Stress can cause thin shells, and there was some bullying a few weeks back but the barred rock has come out dominant and has not been so pushy lately so I don't know...Just sucks having 3 eggs/day and one be broken.
