NEW Button Quail Breeding Cages! *PICTURES!*

Good work! I have eyed the metal shelves we have thinking pretty much the same thing. You'll have to let us know how they work for you!

I am thinking about putting newspaper under the shavings. Or maybe cardboard and newspaper. I have two other pens to fix up, so I can kind of see how this is going to work for me and that way I'll know if I wonna change anything when we make the other ones.
Pictures tomorrow ... I plan on moving the buttons into them in the morning.

Cardboard and/or newspaper will still be way to slick. The sticky-backed shelf liner will give them some traction, plus you can clean it just like you'd do on wallpaper. I strongly suggest that you give them better footing before you use these pens.

2x. I happen to have 3 extra rolls, could stand outside and throw them to ya, but my pitching arm just isn't what it used to be.
I got mine at Big Lots for a $1 @ piece though incase you have one around that neck of the woods.

Use small wood or metal trim like 3/4" thick, make a little box same size as the floor and use hardware cloth staple to top of the 3/4" top and use little spacers to raise it up 1/2" off the floor so you could slide in trays with newspaper to catch the droppings just like they do in rabbit hutches or bird cages Also can buy tin foil cookware pans like baking sheets...And the Quail walk above on the hardware cloth and not on the surface of the shelf itself and the pan slides underneath for easy cleaning...

I was talking about putting cardboard of newspaper on the bottom over the metal, and then putting alot of shavings on top. Or maybe hay. Haven't decided yet
