My family and I are new to raising chickens. Our peeps are due to arrive March 24. We are really excited to be adding chickens to our homestead "family". I'm sure I will have thousands of questions and would love to get as much advice as you're willing to share. God Bless

Fortunately, we live close(about a 20 minute drive) to Meyer Hatchery and can pickup our chicks. It will save shipping costs and will hopefully reduce the risk of a peep dying in transit. We are super excited for the 24th to get here.

That's great that you can drive in and pick up the chickens yourself.

Please check out feet & beaks if you can before leaving, cross beak & splayed feet, curled up toes, etc. are common - you don't need to start out with those defects.
