New Call Ducks - Advice please!

I'm sorry, in the post where I mentioned cat food I was referring to "kitten food", not adult cat foot.

Last time I looked, kitten food was 40% protein and adult cat food is ~30% protein.

Diets in excess of 30% protein can cause helth probems, but either kibble is okay in moderation as treat.

Thanks everyone! I'm bathing Jemima every day and limiting Puddles's time in water to help with his wet feather. I will be bathing him in a little bit of washing liquid soon in hopes to remove excess dirt and oils and I will be giving them parasite treatments soon too.

I bought peas, green beans and put them in a bowl of water in their indoor pen, along with some fish flavored dry adult cat food, and some corn. I want to buy some supplements to put in their water and food but not sure where to buy them from, I'm located in the UK.

They're not touching any of the food offered, so I'm a little concerned. I hope they peck at it throughout the night or in the morning. I've seen them eating some corn throughout the day but I don't know how to encourage them to eat their veg. They aren't super tame yet.

I guess time is key here. I need to be patient. :)

Amazon is a good place to order things when you can't find them local I have to do that.

Since I don't buy cat food not having a cat I did pick up some at the store today to see protein content and it was 38% maybe different brands have different levels.

Day 3,

Managed to get them to eat a few peas and beans by putting them in their morning bath with them. They loved diving for them!

Puddles has got diarrhea pretty bad, but I'm going to buy some more duck food today and some grit, along with vitamins and minerals to put in their water and food.

He's really wobbly when he's been in the bath, but his feathers get so waterlogged I don't blame him. I think I'm going to avoid baths for now. I tried cleaning him with a little bit of washing up liquid to try and "restart" his feathers to potentially help with the wet feather. Dried him as best as I could with a hair dryer afterwards, but he wasn't impressed, haha.

Do you think it would be OK to put him outside for some enrichment? Don't want him to get too bored. ;) We have direct sunlight in our front garden and plenty of grass.

Also I think he might be being bullied by Jemima, she's awfully pecky towards him.

I would stick to duck food and fresh water. Limit treats to 10% or less of diet. I think you are doing a good job. Some wobbly behavior can just be immaturity and expect that to improve with age care and proper nutrition.

For what these poor little ones have been through I’d say nutrient deficiency is most likely their biggest issue. Vitamins and good feed should clear that up it’s just going to take some time they have a lot of catching up to do. Sunshine if warm should help make them happy. And diving for peas is a fun thing for all ducks when in the tub!!
