NEW Camaros....

I"m a chick and own a Camaro, I take offence of it being a chick car. I have had many, many guys wanting to buy it from me. Does this look like a "chick" car?

I like the new Camero, but there are some serious drawbacks. The biggie is that it requires premium fuel. The Mustang GT runs on regular. That is going to be HUGE when gas jumps up again. With the V-8 it is running 426 horse power compared with the GT's 315 horse power - yet it is only 1/2 a second faster in the quarter mile.
Now consider the V-6 version. It has 304 horse power and has a 29 mpg hiway fuel rating. It also is only 1 second slower than the SS in the quarter mile. It also comes nicely dressed for about $23,000. That should keep the Blue Oval guys up at night.

They should have had that Camaro ready to hit the show room floors when Transformers introduced it to the world.....

Chevy would have done GOOD! Chevy screwed up.

I liked it. The right lines, the right look, kept the feeling of the Muscle car it once was.....

BY the way I am a chick, I love old muscle cars. I used to drive as a daily driver a 1970 Dodge Coronet, then a 1974 Dodge Dart.....only recently have I had a newer car, I had a Jeep Liberty given to me.

Good for you!!! see I told you Chick car. Those guy's that are wanting to buy it are buying it for theirs chicks. That model year was also the ugliest and worst performing of all. I am sure you are very nice and enjoy your clunker, but please don't attempt to talk real muscle with a guy vs a chick w/a Camaro, Please let that dog lie!!!!.

I went to the "official" unveiling the other day.
And I was officially disappointed in my local dealership.
Here they had a GREAT chance to boost sales and they did NOTHING.
Whoop. Free hotdogs and soda. The sales people were not talking up the car at all. They have the one that HQ sent out, but no one is allowed to test drive it. Lame.
They generated no excitement over the car. I mean I get that their jobs are on the line. But seriously. Maybe there is a reason! I would have done a better job. If I do go with the 2010 I will not be using my local dealership. I will be traveling for it.

I dont like how terrible the blind spots are. There are other design elements that should have been done better as well.
I was thinking of getting a new one. but am now leaning towards spending the money on a 1st generation one instead. I drove 67 convertible and my last one was a 69 coupe. They are fun cars. Easy to work on as well.

here's the Chevy link http://www.chevrolet.com/allnewcamaro/#

I
plan on a yellow one. One way or another

BTW al6517- My x dh is a Marine and the 67 was his. Real men do drive Camaros. As do real women. I have the 327 from my 69 in the barn. Never got around to rebuilding the engine. But the car itself was a monster.

Yes the "69" was an awsome car as was the "67", the 327 is by far one of the best muscle engines ever to be produced. I am speaking of the non glory years when the Camaro fell from grace in looks and performance, as what happens to some muscle cars at some point. at that point it became the chick car, except for the errant Southern boy with a mullet who has one of those dog's.
