My new camera arrives today, I have to work so I won't be playing with it, but i figured I'd drop off some photos from my old camera. A Canon powershot sx420

Nice. I have a D7000, which is 5 gens older of the same body. It's a super solid shooter and v.durable. Coming from a Canon ecosystem, the menus may take a bit to learn but I think you'll like it.

It was a very impulse decision, It was for sale, used for 480. In good condition, was somebodies starter camera and they're buying a new one. My current camera is stupid easy to use, but unless its SUPER zoomed in, on a completely still subject, its no better (maybe worse..) than my samsung A52 phone.
