New Chic On Board

Hey Y'all. Just joined BYC. I thought I had an idea of what type of chickens I want to raise but I been out of the chic game for a looong time it seems. I won't be using them as meat birds. Mostly egg laying (pets) to enjoy as a hobby. Me and my husband work for ourselves on our own schedule so I don't want to have to get a 9-5 to finance my hobby but I will have some spoiled cluckers cause the kids (14 & 17) are too "grown" for mama. My husband is currently building a fabulous chicken tractor/coop (I call my chicken castle) and it's so empty. Thanks for accepting this Mississippi country girl into your backyard to see y'all's chickens. Y'all send me your pics, info, opinions and advice. I'm ready to hear some cluckin' in my backyard. Thanks Y'all

Hi, I want to say about the breed is that I have 8 superlayers. And while they lay now, the oldest ones are starting to slow down at 18-17 months. So I would recomend purebreds like RIR, Barred Rocks and EEs. Here are some pics of my flock.
