I purchased 8 Bared Rock day old chicks 9 weeks ago. I didn't know anything about chickens but I saw a sign on the side of the road that said baby chicks and I thought why not. This site has been a great help along the way. In the last week, I gave away 4 roosters. I also just purchased two 6 month old hens and one 4 month old bantam bared rock frizzle on Saturday. The woman thought one was a black australorp and she couldn't remember the breed of the other hen (I'll have to post a picture later). The woman I purchased the hens from did not know if they were laying because she had about 50 birds but said they might. Today I found an egg! Thanks for all the great information on this site.
