new chick, eye closed?

Hi! I just brought a chick home from LFS yesterday, a little Buff Orpington (hatchery), a few days old. Yesterday her eyes were fine, today she is holding it closed, not gummy or crusty, just closed. Anything I can do for her? I think someone may have pecked her eye? What can I put on it? Thank you!

How is your chick doing?

If you think she was pecked in the eye, you can flush it with saline to see if that helps. Sometimes they can get a bit of dust or debris in the eye as well. If it looks irritated after you see if anything is in it, apply some Vetericyn eye gel or Terramycin eye ointment to the eye.
