I'm new to this. "This" being BYC and chickens in general.
I have 5 chicks. The more I read I'm not sure what kind they are. My guess is 4 are Barred Rocks (1 a rooster) and 1 Black Australorp. I wanted ALL Black Australorps, but they look like Barred Rocks to me. (I THINK they're Barred Rocks, but recently I saw a picture of a Black Sex Link... and well, I don't know, it might be too early to tell since they're still getting feathers.) I came home with 5 black chicks and assumed they were what I asked for... until closer inspection and 1 was clearly different. Then they started getting feathers and 1 of these things is not like the others!!!
I'll post pictures soon enough, in the proper thread. They're about 5 weeks old.
