Well in that case... I say just get to building and go pick out some chicks! LOL! :) Sounds like my husband, he pretty much indulges me in whatever I want. I wanted chickens, so I did the research and handed him a set of building plans for the coop, hahaha. :D
 
Ha! I totally should! The only thing is, my husband is not very handy...I'd have to buy a coop and from the looks of it, they aren't cheap. Maybe I'll attempt to make one. Any suggestions? If I didn't have to work tomorrow I would be on here all night talking and reading up on chickens. My husband is literally sitting next to me shaking his head haha he is too funny! But heck, if it makes us happy why shouldn't we do it?!

Welcome new Chick, I can practically guarantee your husband will come over to the chicken side, as soon as he meets the little ones. Don't let him read this. No one can resists little fluffy butts. Do you have any idea of breeds you want? Good place to check out are "Raising Backyard chickens," forum, the coops and predator sections etc. So glad you joined us at Backyard chickens.
 
BTW if you go to "where am I, where are you," in the social forum, you can locate and post on your state thread. You may even find other chickeners living near you. They can tip you off to the best place to get feed/supplies, and how to get your chickens through the hot weather as well as the cold. Glad you joined the flock
