Good evening... my hubby and dad started our coop and run today for our 10 new additions... it looks amazing can't wait to get the chick's out there exploring and having fun...we have never had chickens before so everything is nee :-) learning new things everyday :-) glad to be here and learn more :-)
 
Welcome to the BYC flock. What breeds did you get? How old are they? Do you have a brooder with heat lamp inside until they are fully feathered out and can be put in the coop?

I think we have 6 road island reds?? And 4 bantams. I think they are about 5 weeks old. Right now they are in a 40 gal reptile tank with lid and heat lamp in our living room until they are able to go outside. I brought one outside yesterday to check out the coop but she was wrapped in a towel and in my jacket to stay warm :-) I'm hoping they can go out to the coop in a few weeks or so. We are gonna transfer them to a large wire cage in the basement in a few weeks be they are getting a little large for their current habit. But I love watching them and so do the kids. If anyone had any tips or advice I'm open by this is all new to us :)
