new chick - might be dying?

shaggy, I had my chicks in a plastic tub like that, my chicks got too hot in it. My husband cut all of the center of the lid off and attached hardward cloth to it. He attached the screws with the ends on the outside so the chicks couldn't get hurt on them. It worked well for the first three weeks, then they graduated to a pen! Good luck on the rest! Theresa

Yes, I am sure the expectation of getting more baby chicks will help to ease the pain and sorrow of loosing a little one. It is a sad thing for something we care for to die. But sometimes there is nothing we can do about it and it is out of our control. But I am sure your daughter wouldn't want to poor little chick to suffer and be in pain either. So while it Is sad, at least the little one is not in pain and suffering.
