New chick mom here!?

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
Your setup is not predator proof.
You need to be able to close them into the coop at night. There should be no opening larger than 1/2" in the coop. You should also install a no dig predator apron around the coop and run.

At first they wouldn’t go in the coop, but after a couple days I watched them and just when the sun is going down they all starting chirping and they follow each other now into the coop lay down and go to see, I put nesting boxes I guess u would call it in there but they sleep on the floor, but I guess they will learn
Young chicks will typically sleep on the floor together until about 7 or 8 weeks old. They venture out more at that age and start to experiment with "roosting" on stuff. They have the instinct to roost, but it does take time. I caught my 8 week old 5 chicks roosting in the middle of the day yesterday on the lowest of our roosts, about 5 feet! I was surprised to see it, but glad they are getting the hang of things! Your chicks will learn too. I don't see any roosting boards, just the nesting boxes. You don't want them to sleep in the nesting boxes, they need a 2x2 or branch or something to roost on inside the coop. I have boards above my nesting boxes and the chickens love them!

That’s what I’ve been wondering about and trying to find out about one if mine was trying to stand on one of the boards for the gate and it couldn’t, do they need to be a certain height, or just whatever does best?
