Just wanted to stop by to say HI. I will be adopting 6 new baby chicks tomorrow and am very excited. I hope to hang out with you all to let to be the best chicken mom I can be.

My husband and I are empty nesters with two kids in college and one newly married. We currently have 2 australian shepherds that are very spoiled and 2 house cats that are very lazy! I will post pics of my new chicks as soon as we get all settled in.

Thanks

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to join our flock. I'll look forward to seeing the pics of your new chicks. If you haven't done so already, definitely check out our Learning Center at https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center. There is loads of useful information there. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck in getting your chicks.

Welcome to BYC!

Congratulations on getting your flock! What breed of chicks are you getting?

Make yourself at home here...there's a lot of information available and a lot of friendly, helpful members.

Nice to have you here!

Welcome to Backyard chickens. Hope your Aussies are good around them. They are much more delicate than sheep or cattle.

Thanks for the welcome!!! My aussie girls are just pets and don't work the farm unless you consider "ball" herding work! They won't be allow to be around the chickens alone or without some protection for the chickens. I would love to get a pyrenees but that's down the road for now. Thanks for all the encouragement and help. I will be following the forums for guidance for sure.
