What up chicken peeps, my buddy got this chick a couple days ago from a bin that was black australorps, golden laced wyandottes, and white plymouth rocks. Could it be a white rock, they looked like a normal yellow chick at the store? Now we have a gray chick and a mystery on our hands.

What could be???
Thanks!!!

I don’t think it is a White Plymouth Rock because
A. More gray than usual
B. PINK legs!
And C. The little wing feathers coming in are a silvery blue-gray.
I know this doesn’t help, but I don’t think your chick is any of the breeds they said were in that bin. :confused:It may be a mix, or a completely different breed.
But you will need to wait a bit to tell.

I'd wait till it feathers out and update this thread then maybe it'll be easier. It's hard to tell by a chicks fluff especially when they're in the wrong bin.

Can you go back to your feed supply store and look at all the other bins and see if there's any chicks that look like that one in another bin?

For me, if I headed to the feed store to look at chicks to see if they looked like one of mine, I would come home with a LOT more chicks! :lau

LOL love the answers I def cant go back to the store, the wife would not approve of more chicks. The four breeds they had at the store were buff orpington, white plymouth rock, golden wyandotte, and black australorp.

I went on cackle hatcheries web site concerning white PRs and they claim the legs are yellow but can be darker and variable. We shall see, thanks for all the help!!!!
