Hi everyone, my name is Shannon. I bought my first 6 chicks almost 7 weeks ago and I just love them. So I had to get 6 more babies. Oh my I'm in love. We just bought a house with a coop and my husband promised I could have chicks. I'm sure he didn't think I'd get them this soon. We live in upstate NY and it's still a bit chilly. They are all in the garage very warm. I'm glad I found this site since I'm new to raising chicks.

Hi Erica, the older ones are a mix of brown pullets and leghorns. They are 6 to 7 weeks. I did some research before I went to get them and when I got there they didn't have any of the ones I wanted. I'm thinking the older ones were the leftovers so I'm not exactly sure what breed they all are. The babies are Isa Brown, our littlest one is a Rhode Island Red. They are 1 week. The man that helped me told me that I had a 90% chance of getting a rooster with the RI Red and I wanted all hens but I took a chance. She/he is the only one my son named (flash) yet, so either sex we're keeping him.
